The Albany Onyx frame is a deep black frame, yet has tiny grooves in, not dissimilar to an old vinyl record, although perhaps not as indented. Take a look at the closer up photo, you can see the lines as you look at the frame in different lighting. It has a slight shine and feels really lovely. It is made from a good quality wood and so feels substantial to hold.
Black frames work well with most kinds of home décor and match well with my graphite pencil drawings. This frame is suitable for an engraved plaque which I would recommend having the silver colour with this particular moulding. The client who commissioned the portrait below requested a double mount / matts with charcoal black as the main and a pale grey for the inner. It would work equally as well with pale grey or cream as the main mount / matt too.
Amanda makes this frame bespoke for each of my clients, if you are interested in ordering one for your portrait, let me know and I will obtain a quote for you.
I can’t believe so much time has passed since I received the portrait of Sammy for my friend! My apologies, but I am finally sending you a few pictures. One is Michele and Sammy with the “just arrived” portrait, and the other shows Sammy, framed. Michele loved it. Hope all is well in Wales!
Thank you for a wonderful gift,
